Our Work

At PlayEmber i've grown and improved in many aspects of game development, from level and systems design to C# scripting and optimisation. I have been involved in numerous titles and projects including Raft Life, Cargo truck parking and Coaster Crash. Below are 3 case study's of projects I was able to make an impact on.

Destruction Darby

My primary role on this project was Design focused. I was given the opportunity to pitch a concept utilising an existing game mechanic that had previously been created for a prototype within the team combined with a meta progression system. The concept was further brainstormed with the wider team and from the notes gathered in that meeting I went away and produced a full design document for the project. This document was to be used by the whole team for reference and therefore had to contain detailed descriptions and reference material for each section. This included detailed descriptions of required assets, including required 3D models and reference images for the 3D team to create. Descriptions and spreadsheets for systems and interactions within the game to be used by the senior developer to implement. 

Once work got underway I was responsible for conducing regular meetings with the various teams to keep the project on track and answer any queries about design or direction. I was also working on the project focusing on UI, polish and balance
